Cortex Data Management: Manage Policy View with expanded policy

Within this version detail view Cortex Data Management offers the following interface options:

  • Select to collapse a version row and view fewer details
  • Select <> to view a detail window with the JSON Details for a specific policy version.
  • For future data policies which have not yet become effective, select the Edit pen icon change the scope or specifics of an existing data policy which will be saved as a new version of the data policy.
  • Select or New Policy to Create New Policy using this version as a template
  • Select Back or Cancel to return to the Manage Data Policy view.

For best accountability and clearest data provenance, existing data policies cannot be edited directly without creating a a new version of the data policy. The new version allows the desired change in the data policy and the old version memorializes the data policy as it existed before the change was made. For similar reasons, data policies can be set to current or future dates but not to past dates.

Together, these best practices provide true true provenance by tracking and documenting a full chronology of the rules and permissions data is subject to for the entire life of that data while it exists on Adara servers.

JSON Details

The JSON details view shows even more information about the policy, drilling into specifics about whether data permissions allows or restricts certain uses cases, verticals, products, customer accounts, platforms, and/or consortiums. Each level of data permission can be used with Boolean operators to link them with other data permissions within the policy.

  • Select the up triangle ▲ to collapse lower levels of the JSON view to focus on different or higher levels of the data policy.
  • Select X to close the JSON details view panel.

The ability to collapse and expand content in your document is based on the indented levels built into the code.
