Data Policy Use Cases

Configuration by Permission

The following section details the different permission types and suggests configurations and use cases for each permission type.

Permissions can be created across any combination of Use Case, Consortium, Vertical, Customer, Account, and/or Platform, with or without supplemental specific restrictions. Define as many different types of permission and/or restriction as needed, depending on your business requirements.

Use Case

To configure permissions for use cases, set Allowed for only the applicable use cases.

Consortium

To configure permissions for consortiums, there are three common configuration cases:

  • For client's own exclusive use, leave all values Not Set.
  • For private consortium use, set the relevant private consortium(s) to Allowed.
  • For data partner use, set Adara Consortium to Allowed.

Vertical

To configure permissions for verticals, there are several common configuration cases for Data Partners:

  1. To allow ALL verticals including Marketplace, leave all values Not Set.
  2. To allow ALL verticals exclude Marketplace, set Restricted for Marketplace.
  3. To allow some verticals, set Allowed for relevant verticals.
  4. To restrict ALL verticals, set Restricted for all verticals.
  5. To restrict some verticals, set Restricted for relevant verticals.
  6. To restrict ALL verticals exclude Marketplace, set Allowed for Marketplace.

Adara Data Management classifies Marketplace as a vertical.

Customer

To configure permissions for customers, there are several common configuration cases:

  1. To allow customer own use only,

    1. Leave all vertical values Not Set.
    2. Set Allowed for customer.
  2. To allow some customers and allow customer own use, set Allowed for relevant customers and customer itself.

  3. To restrict some customers, set Restricted for relevant customers.

Platform

To configure permissions for platforms, set Restricted for only the applicable platforms (channels).
